HISTORY:
The E-50 hull was practically identical to the King Tiger in overall dimensions except for the glacis plate layout. The plates would have been interlocked and welded as on other German vehicles, giving great strength and rigidity. The engine chosen was an improved version of the Maybach HL230 as fitted to the Panther and the Tiger II.
Called the HL234, it developed 1200 HP with supercharging. The location of fuel tanks, radiators and fans was similar to the Tiger II. Maximum speed was to be 60 K/ph. The idea was to assemble both types n the same production line, using identical production machinery and brought in sub assemblies.

The kit comes in a shrink-wrapped tray and lid type box.
The box art shows a E-50 moving down a city street past some large municipal buildings. There are 2 infantrymen advancing behind it. It is overall earth yellow with no markings.
One side panel has a one paragraph history of the E-50, followed by a color 4-view of a E-50 that is in a base of earth yellow with wide bands of green and red-brown. A copyright of 2010 is shown above Trumpeter's street address in Macau.
The other side panel has 8 color walk-around type photos of the model made up. It is in the scheme shown on the other side panel. It say the kit is suitable for modelers 14 years and older in 10 languages including English and MADE IN CHINA.

The kit contains 6 tan trees of parts. a single turret part, upper hull part and lower hull part that are also tan. A brass PE fret, some brass wire and 2 lengths of black vinyl treads, plus the instructions complete the kits contents.
There are no decals, probably due to this vehicle be prototypal and not put into action at all.
The instructions consist of a staple-bound booklet that contains 12 pages in 7 1/2" x 10 1/2" page format.
Page 1 begins with a black and white illustration of an E-50 in the wide wave pattern cammouflage. This is followed by READ BEFORE ASSEMBLY instructions in English and Chinese, followed by international assembly symbol explanations and decal application instructions in the two languages.
Page 2 is the parts trees illustrations.
Page 3 through 12 give a grand total of 17 assembly steps.

Lettering now jumps to the letter K clear tree. It holds vision window blocks (10 parts).
The single tan parts of the turret top, upper hull and lower hull are next.
The remaining parts are the brass PE fret (that holds air intake screens etc.-21 parts), the length of brass wire and the two lengths of black vinyl rubber band type treads. I think these tracks are the new glueable type, but not sure.

A nice kit of a one-off prototype. This kit will appeal to "WHAT IF 1946" modelers for sure.
