THE KIT:
DML (Dragon) is an old prolific model company based in Hong Kong, China. They manufacture all manner of model subjects in the popular scales.
This kit comes in a shrink-wrapped end-opening type box.
I am no fan of this type of box, because invariably parts or the decal sheet will find their way past one of the end flaps of the box to become lost forever. Give me a tray and lid type box any day of the week.
The box art shows a color illustration of 4 U.S. Army Airborne troops behind a dense hedge.
They all wear khaki uniforms. Their trousers are bloused at the bottom into high laced brown boots. All the men wear tan chest straps and belts and ammo pouches and shovels in carrying pouches and canteens on their belts.
Reading left to right, the first man is standing. He has a Mohawk scalp lock on his head. He is armed with an M1 carbine.
The second man to the right also is standing. He is armed with a bazooka His steel helmet has a camouflaged cloth cover on it with some tufts.
The third man to the right is standing and beckoning the first 2 men forward. He has a net cover on his steel helmet and is armed with a carbine with a folding wire shoulder stock on it.
The 4th and last man on the right is kneeling. He has a net cover with a small tan canvas pouch attached to the front of it. He is armed with a Thompson sub machine-gun.
One corner of the box art says the kit contains 69 parts. For modelers age 10 and over. Kit contains parts for 4 figures.
One side panel of the box says the kit contains parts for 4 figures. Paint and cement are not included. In Japanese, English, French, Italian and Chinese. Each language is labeled with a color illustration of the flag of the country that speaks the language.
The copyright of the kit is given as 1993, over Dragon’s street address and FAX number in Hong Kong, China and the kit was made there.
