THE KIT:
Dragon (sometimes named DML) is an old prolific plastic model kit manufacturer based in Hong Kong, China. They make all manner of plastic model subjects in the popular scales.
This kit comes in a shrink-wrapped end-opening type box. I am no fan of this type of box, because invariably parts or the decal sheet will find their way past one of the end flaps of the box to become lost forever. Give me a tray and lid type box any day of the week.
The cover art of the box shows a color illustration of 4 Sturmpioniers inside a wood-lined dugout.
The men all wear camouflage -jackets, field-grey trousers, bloused at the bottom into the tops of high black jack boots. Their steel helmets all have cloth covers on them in the same camouflage as the jackets.
Trees are not alphabetized. Instead the figures are.
Reading left to right:
The first man (letter A) is standing and looking to the left. He is armed with a Mauser 98K carbine in his right hand and a black box with white 3Kg on it. He has full field gear on his belt, that includes 2 large canvas pouches.
The second man to the right (letter B) is kneeling on his right knee and also looking to the left. He is armed with a flamethrower. With the aiming tube in both hands and a large steel fuel tank on his back and field gear on his belt.
The third man to the right (letter C) is standing and also looking to the left. He is pulling the pin on a potato-masher type grenade. His Mauser 98K carbine is laid on the ground by him. He has full field gear on his belt.
The fourth, and last man, to the right (letter D) is kneeling on his left knee and also looking to the left. t knee. He too is armed with a Mauser 98K carbine in his left hand and has a pair of wire-cutters in his right hand. He has full field gear on his belt.
One corner of the box art says: Unassembled model kit. This kit contains 73 parts. For modelers aged 10 and over. Box contains 4 figures.
