Master Mache comes in 1 lb., 5 lb., 25 lb. and 50 lb units. It is packaged in a sturdy brown box with a tab locking lid. The mache is a fine light grey power and is in a clear cello bag held shut with a wire tie.
It is concentrated, safe and non-hazardous with no asbestos. It has a grey body, is very strong and versatile.
It can be used "neat" as is or with fillers 10-50% by volume including: plaster, chopped paper, gravel, dirt, sawdust, sand, cork, fibers and more.
Uses include professional and industrial applications, classroom projects, design and art prototypes, casting and reproduction items, model construction, theatrical props, model railroad scenery, substructures, artificial rocks, habitat and base building, wildlife art, mannikin building and more.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
1. Measure dry mache powder as needed and mix with water to desired consistency. Can add fullers 10-50% by volume if desired.
2. Mache is now ready for use. Set-up time is about 2 hours, depending on mixed consistency. Mache is fully cured when moisture dries off in 1-4 days.
3. Simple water clean-up. Finish and paint as desired.
SUGGESTED MIXING RADIO (Mache to water):
3 to 1 Batter-like for casting and molds.
4 to 1 For hand lay-up applications.
Keep out of the reach of children. Safe for all ages when used as directed. Wear goggles and dust mask when sanding cured mache. Keep container closed and dry. Conforms to safety limits.
I want to thank Erin Gerlach, General Manager of Aves Studio for this review sample.
I intend to use it later for ground work on a WWI No-man's diorama with either a British or German tank that I have built both of.
