CASTING SYMBOLS
Surface details apply exactly like waterslide decals but are applied under the paint.
Surface details are resin details cast directly onto a continuous film of Microscale clear decal film, so the desired amount must be cut from the sheet prior to application.
Prepare the surface by being sure it is clean. Since Surface Details are applied under paint, you do not have to concerned with “silvering”, but you may use setting solutions if you wish. Microscale Microsol and Solvaset work well.
Once cut from the sheet, dip into warm water, allow a few moments for it to slide easily from the backing and apply to the model. You can increase adhesion by brushing some Future or other acrylic floor wax onto the area first. Blot up excess.
You can add another object on top of the first for greater depth or combine different widths of weld beads for an even more dimensional appearance. When the first had dried, simply apply the second, aligning it with the first. Allow to dry, apply a liberal amount of Microscale Micro Sol to allow the film of the second to conform to the recesses of the first.
Once the Surface Detail has dried, paint the model as you normally would.
There are no known incompatibities with finishing systems, but always test any new product before finishing your model.
Numbers in the set are said to be for the following:

APPLYING SURFACE DETAILS
Step 1. Clean surface of model thoroughly.
Step 2. Cut what you need from the sheet with a hobby knife. Use scissors to cut along strips of rivets and welds. For easier handling, leave a little extra clear film, slice through the clear and use clamping tweezers to hold the decal. The part will slide off leaving the clamped clear film on the backing paper.
Step 3. Dip into warm water. Remove and wait about 30 seconds for it to slide freely on the backing paper.
Step 4. Apply by positioning one end on the model, hold in position and then slide the backing paper out from under the clear film (lengthwise for long strips).
Step 5. Allow to dry. Drying time can be reduced by using a hair dryer. Use Micro Sol setting solutions after drying to assure a strong adhesion.

INFO/HINTS
Surface Details are applied under paint so you do not have to be overly concerned about silvering, but setting solution is recommended for maximum adhesion.
Once applied and dry, you can handle the model normally. For additional durability, you can seal the Surface Details with a clear coat of primer
A video “How to” instructions can be seen at:
https://www.archertransfers.com/PAGE_Instructions.html
The back of the header card says on the rear:
100% Satisfaction Guaranteed
Return unused portion to manufacturer for free replacement.
