THE BOOK:
Renaldo Studio Press is based in Portland, OR.
All Renaldo Studio Press books are shrink-wrapped in tight fitting clear cello wrap and are about plastic modeling.
It is soft-bound of 288 pages in 8 ¼” x 9 ½” page format. It holds 522 color photos, most of which are walk-around type.
The cover art shows a color side-view photo of a French MBT AMX-30B. It is in a wave-pattern camouflage of tan and olive-drab, with a white section on the gun barrel. A small white dot is in three places around the turret. No other marks are shown.
This book is all about building, painting and marking 6 different modern 1/35th scale armor kits, from Various countries.
1. A U.S. D9R Dozer. It is overall tan, with a dozer blade in front and a digger in back. It is Meng Model brand kit.
2. The French MBT AMX-30B, that is the cover art. Already described above. It is also a Meng Model brand kit.
3. A British FV 221 Caernarvon tank. It is overall sand that is quite worn. It has a black rectangle with white no. 07 BA 75 on the back of the turret and the rear of the hull. It is an Amusing Hobby brand kit.
4. A Russian T-62M1 MBT. It is overall Russian green with a white no.. Aooh on its nose. It is a Tamiya brand kit.
5. A Russian MBT T-72B mod 1989 tank. It is overall Russian green with a large white turret no. 778 on the sides and rear of the turret and a white letter A on one of the ammo boxes slung on the turret. It is a Trumpeter brand kit.
6. An Iraqi APC MT-LB tank. It is overall tan, with a yellow square that has what looks like a white 9 on it and a rectangle that is divided diagonally into red and white. There is another black rectangle with white Arabic writing on it to the left of the rear doors. It is also a Trumpeter brand kit.
Weathering, chipping and dotting and other techniques are all explained in the book
Acrylic or oil paints are used of various brands, including using hair spray.
This is a neat book that walks a modeler through the builds of these 6 kits.
Chapters are on painting, detailing, weathering and decaling.
