HISTORY:
For years, hot rodding was synonymous with the 1940 Ford, but many stree rod enthusiasts have bought more interesting creations in the past several years.
As a result, once forgotten cars such as late thirties Pontiacs, Chevrolets and Plymouths are now seen at rod meets throughout the country.
This model depicts a 1939 Chevrolet Deluxe Coupe. In the tradition of current stree dods, the classic exterior shapes remain unchanged. The car has been fitted with Goodyear street radials and Center Line wheels.
The interior is fitted with a pair of custom seats and the original engine has been supplanted by a 7-liter ZL-1 Chevrolet engine.
The cavernous engine bay provides plenty of room for the massive engine that is fuitted with a 6-71 GMC blower and dual carbs.
This kit is of a classic street rod that will attract attention wherever it appears.

THE KIT:
Monogram was an old prolific model company once based in both Morton Grove or Des Plaines, IL. They manufactured all manner of model subjects in the popular scales and at one time were associated with Revell brand. I believe they have gone out of business.
The kit comes in a shrink-wrapped tray and lid type box.
The box art shows a 1939 Chevy Coupe that is overall jet black with red flames on the sides.
One side panel talks about skill levels of Monogram's kits. This kit is a level 2. Meaning more challenging and requiring glue, with a one-paragraph history of the car in English and French.
The other side panel says the kit is for modelers 16 and older and that paint and cement are not included, over 3 color walk-around type photos of the car made up, showing it's rear, side and engine. The red flames are also shown to be on top of the hood too.
The copyright date of 1991 is given and Monogram's address in Des Plaines, IL.
MADE IN USA.
