HISTORY:
The Macau Grand Prix known as the Oriental Grand Prix is held in November annually and is gaining high popularity. The Macau Guia circuit that closes a city area of the Macau Island, located in the southern part of China, is word famous for the high-speed section along the shoreline and narrow mountain-side section, and is known as one of the most difficult courses in the world.
The first Macau Grand Prix event was held in 1954, and since 1983, the F3 race has been held as the main race, and gathers young challengers from all over the world. Winning the difficult course became directly linked to the road to the F1 driver afterward, and the race became more and more heated.
Such racers who made a name for themselves in this race and climbed to Formula One are Ayrton Senna, Michael Schumacher, Mika Hakkinen and Takuma Sato.
Along with such a main F3 race, another leading role in the Macau Grand Prix is the touring car race. Apart from the Macau Grand Prix, it was called the Macau Guia Race, and famous touring cars from all over the world were competing for the championship.
Since the 1970’s,it has been geographically close to Japan, and many cars, teams, and drivers, who are active in touring car races in Japan make entries,, and fight fiercely with the machines from all over the world. Touring car racing has been running on GT3 category machines since 2000.
The first IIA GT3 World Cup was held from 2015. Five makes and a total of 22 drivers made entries from around the world. The race was held for the qualifying season on 20 November, the qualifying race on the 21sr, and the final race on the 22nd.
Four Audi R8 LMS’s, that were active in the GT3 from around the world made entries. Edoardo Mortara from Audi Sport Team Phoenix, and Rene Rast from Audi Sport Team WRT, took second and fourth place in the qualifying race. In the final race. Mortara finished in second place and Rast was third. Although the Audi R8 LMS with a V19 engine mounted midship did not wing the FIA GT3 World Cup, its great performance proved its lability.

Platz is an old prolific model company based in Shizuoka, Japan. I have not seen the NuNu name on any previous Platz kits that I have reviewed in the past. I assume they are a new associate of Platz’s ??
This kit comes in a tray and lid type box that is not shrink-wrapped.
The cover art shows the Audi R8 LMS posed against a white background that has pale-grey cut-away illustrations of the cars anatomy.
A side view is shown that is overall red, with some white trim (more description later). One corner of the box says there are 2 painting and marking options included in the kit.
The bottom edge of the box art gives Audi’s permission to use their name on the kit.

WHAT’S IN THE BOX:
The kit holds a white body shell part, 4 jet-black trees, a chrome-plated tree, a clear tree, black vinyl tires and poly-caps, and 6 decal sheets in 9 self-sealing clear cello bags.
The instructions consists of a staple-bound booklet of 12 pages in 7” x 10” page format.
Page 1 begins with a black and white side view of the Audi R8 LMS, over its history and READ BEFORE ASSEMBLY instructions in Japanese and English.
Page 2 begins with a repeat of suggested paint colors by Mr. Color brand hobby paints, over decal application instructions and international assembly symbol explanations, in Japanese and English.
The bottom of page 2 through to page 9 gives a grand total of 15 assembly steps.
Page 10 and 11 are marking and painting guides printed in black and white.
Page 10 shows a 5 view of the car in the overall red box car scheme.
It is bright red with a white band across the door sills and bottom of front fenders and a stripe across the rear fenders.
It has a white roof and trunk center and top of the air foil.
The black Audi logo of 4 rings (kind of Olympic symbol look) on roof, with white a white square that has a yellow edge, “FIRST WORLD CUP” on the the yellow edge and a 6 on the white section.
White “TANGTAO” on the sides of the rear fenders and centers of the doors, flanked by a red square with a black RB on the left of it and white and yellow rectangle, with black SJM on the yellow half and yellow 6 on the white half..
Red square, followed by white “AUDI LMS CUP R8” on side window sills and on the nose.
White 4-ring Audi logo on sides of the air foil and a red square with white BR 8 on top of the foil.
Red “TSINTAO”, flanked by “Pirelli "on each side on white rear bumper.
White band across top of the windshield with Chinese lettering and “SJM” twice on it.

Jet-black letter C tree holds: the dashboard, chassis, brake drums, axle etc. (14 parts) One part excess. This tree is co-joined to the letter D tree.
Jet black letter D tree holds the trunk lid and rear bumper (2 parts)
There are no letter E or F.

Jet-black letter G tree holds the wheel rims (4 parts)
Chrome-plated letter H tree holds rear-view mirror lenses (6 parts)
Clear letter I tree holds: windows and light lenses (13 parts)
The one piece body completes the plastic parts.
Next is the black vinyl tires (4 parts) and the poly-caps (5 parts)
The 6 decal sheets are alphabetized also.
Long letter A sheet holds red markings.

Long letter B sheet holds black and white markings, including the Audi 4 ring logo.
Medium-sized letter C sheet holds logos and black and white stripes.
Medium-sized letter D sheet holds yellow markings, seat belts etc.
Small letter E sheet holds more Audi logos etc.
Small decal sheet letter F contains the Audi logos, headlight decals, etc.
There is not driver figure included. This kit is highly detailed and will be of great interest to car modelers and race fans alike.
