THE KIT:
This kit came in a shrink-wrapped end-opening type box. I am no fan of this type of box, because invariably parts or the decal sheet will find their way past one of the end flaps of the box to become lost forever. Give me a tray and lid type box any day of the week.
The cover art shows a color illustration of 4 German tank crew-men atop a tank. Posed against an all- white background, similar to how Tamiya brand also does the majority of their box arts.
Reading left to right, the first crewman is shown from the waist up standing in an open tank hatch. He wears a black Panzer uniform with a tan shirt and black tie and a black cloth side cap. He is holding a pair of binoculars in his left hand.
The second crewman is in front of the other 2 crewmen. He is posed from the chest up. He too wears a black Panzer uniform and a field gray billed officer’s hat. He has a brown shirt and an Iron Cross metal strung around his neck. He is standing in a tank turret hatch.
Behind him, in the middle, is a crewman in a camouflaged uniform of tan, green and red-brown spots. He wears a black cloth side cap. He is shown from the chest up in a tank turret hatch.
The fourth, and last man, on the right is standing on a tank fender. He wears a camouflaged uniform of tan, green and red-brown spots. He has a pistol holster on his belt and is carrying a MP40 machine pistol in his left hand. He wears a black cloth Panzer cap with a bill.
One side panel of the box just shows the kit’s name.
