Scalemates web site says they went out of business around 1972 and only shows 8 products they marketed then in white metal.
There is supposed to be 3 officers in this set, but my deceased buddy that willed them to me only left the Italian General in the cello bag. The bag was attched to a header card and contained a post card with full color photos of the 3 Italian officers on one side and a discription of their clothing on the other side.

The general is in tropical dress. This figure is intended as a portrait of General Ettore Bostica, the Commander-in-Chief of all Axis Forces in Africa, and Rommel's nominal C.O., but may be depicted as any senior Italian officer.
A sheet of instructions for painting and marking Italian officers is included with those instructions on one side of it and instructions for painting and marking German officers on the reverse side.
The figure is molded complete it looks like perhaps or maybe his left arm was separate at one time and super glued on by my deceased friend ?

The detail on him is excellent and he only needs to be painted. Too bad the other 2 guys weren't with him.
The original price tag that is still on the bag says that my friend paid $3.95 for this figure back in the 70's.
