THE KIT:
DML- Dragon is an old prolific model company based in Hong Kong, China. They manufacture all manner of model subjects in the popular scales.
This kit comes in a shrink-wrapped end-opening type box.
I am no fan of this type of box, because invariably parts or the decal sheet will find their way past one of the end flaps to become lost forever. Give me a tray and lid type box any day of the week.
The box art shows 4 SS infantrymen in front of a damaged wall.
The men all wear khaki-green trousers bloused into tan gators over low black shoes and camouflaged jackets in a spot pattern of tan, dark-green and red brown. All wear steel helmets.
Reading left to right, the 1st man is standing and beckoning the other 3 men forward. He is armed with a MP40. He has a pair of binoculars strung around his neck and wears shoulder-strap harness. He has a potato masher type grenade tucked under his belt in front. Strung on his belt there is a gas mask canister, mess kit, canvas pouch and a shovel in a carrying pouch. His helmet has a camouflaged cover in the same pattern as his jacket. I think he may be an officer.
The 2nd man to the right is running. He is carrying a MG42 machine-gun on a bipod in his right hand and a steel ammo case for it in his left hand. He has a leather pouch on his belt, a shovel in carrying-pouch, mess kit, canteen and gas mask canister. He too has a camouflaged cloth cover on his helmet.
The 3rd man to the right is also running. He is carrying a Panzerfaust rocket launcher in both hands. He too has a cloth camouflage cover on his helmet. On his belt he has a shovel in a pouch, ammo cases, canteen, mess kit and gas mask canister. He has a Mauser 98K carbine slung on his back.
The 4th and last man to the right is standing. He is armed with a 98K in both hands. He has a camouflaged cloth cover on his helmet, like the other 3 men. On his back is a large sack. On his belt he has a canvas sack, canteen, mess kit and gas mask canister.
One side panel shows 3 color box arts of other figure kits that DML manufactures: kit no. 6004, a Sd.Kfz. 165 “Hummel”, Kit no. 6005, German Fallschirmjager and Kit no. 6006, German “Cross of Iron” figures.

The other side panel says the kit contains parts for four figures, paint and glue are not included, in Japanese, English, German, French, Italian and Chinese. Each language labeled with a color illustration of the flag of the country that speaks that language.
This is followed by the copyright for the kit of 1996 above DML's address in Hong Kong, China and the kit was made there.
