THE KIT:
DML (sometimes Dragon) is an old prolific model company based in Hong Kong, China.
They manufacture all manner of model subjects in the popular scales.
This kit came in a shrink-wrapped end-opening type box.
I am no fan of this type of box, because invariably parts or the decal sheet will find their way past one of the end flaps of the box to become lost forever. Give me a tray and lid type box any day of the week.
The cover art shows 4 Fallschirmjagers fighting in front of a cement lined tunnel.
Three of the men wear all khaki-green uniforms with their trousers bloused into gators over low black shoes. All 4 men wear steel helmets.
Reading left to right, the 1st man is standing. He is an officer. He wears a gray jacket, is armed with a MP40 machine pistol and is holding a potato masher type grenade in his right hand ready to throw it. He has a pair of binoculars strung around his neck, a pistol holster, map case and ammo pouch on his belt.
The 2nd man is standing. He is armed with Mauser 98K carbine in both hands. He has a cloth cover over his helmet, an ammo bandolier strung around his neck. A mess kit, canteen and gas mask canister strung on his belt.
The 3rd man is standing and aiming a MG34 machine gun. He also has a ammo bandolier strung around his neck. He carries a tan canvas pouch and canteen on his belt. He wears a camouflaged jacket that is in a tan, dark-green and red-brown spotted pattern.
The 4th man is lying prone in front in the foreground, He is in the same type camouflage jacket as the 4rd man. He is armed with a Mauser 98K carbine that he is aiming. He has a canvas sack and canteen on his belt.

The bottom of the box has 4 line-drawings by DML’s resident artist Ronald Volstad, who does all the art-work on DML kits. Shown are: a M38 helmet, FG42 ammo bandolier, 98K ammo bandolier and a parachutist’s smoke (late pattern).
One side-panel of the box says: Kit contains parts for four figures. Paint and glue are not included. In Japanese, English, German, French, Italian and Chinese. Each language is labeled with a color illustration of the flag of the country that speaks the language.
Followed by Marco Polo’s street address and FAX number in City of Industry, CA. They were the U.S. distributor of DML (Dragon) books. Copyright of the kit is 1993. Kit made in Hong Kong.

The other side-panel of the box shows 3 color box arts of other kits that DML manufactures: Kit no. 6010, U.S. Army Airborne (Normandy 1944) figures, kit no. 6007, German super tank “Maus” and kit no. 6006, German “Cross of Iron” troops (Eastern Front 1944).
WHAT’S IN THE BOX:
This kit holds one large tan tree and a small medium-gray tree.
The trees are not alphabetized. They do, however, have part number tabs next to the parts on the trees.
The large tan tree holds: the figures (divided into separate heads, torsos, arms and legs) also ammo pouches, a pair of binoculars, a pistol holster, 4 steel helmets (one with cloth cover), 3 canvas sacks, 3 bayonets in scabbards, 3 canteens, mess kits and a map case (73 parts).

The detail is excellent.
