The ground war in Vietnam pitted a myriad of American tanks, artillery, APCs and trucks against not only the weapons of Communist North Vietnam, but also the terrain.
Through archival images, the arsenal of the U.S. Army and USMC are revisited. From the iconic M113 APC to the M48A3 tank, M551 Armoured Reconnaissance/Airborne Assault Vehicle, M154 and M54 models, M50 Ontos, M107 and M109 artillery, and M42 Duster, the complete array of vehicles fielded is shown.
This book, the first in a series on the U.S. military’s weapons, vehicles, aircraft, and naval vessels of the Vietnam War, offers a highly illustrated reference for those wishing to delve deeper into this conflict.

THE AUTHOR:
David Doyle is an avid military vehicle enthusiast whose collection includes 10 Vietnam-era vehicles. It is not surprising that most of his 100+ published books focus on U.S. military vehicles. In June 2015, he was presented the coveted Bart Vanderveen Award by the Military Vehicle Preservation Association, given in recognition of – the individual who has contributed the most to the historic preservation of military vehicles world-wide.
Some of David Doyle’s published works are: M7 Priest, M2/M4 Bradley, M65 Atomic Cannon, M12 Gun Motor-carriage, M36/M36B1 Tank Destroyer, M1 Abrams, and M29 Weasel Tracked Cargo Carrier & Variants in the Pen & Sword Images of War Series;
Panzerkampfwagen IV; The backbone of Germany’s WWII Tank Forces; U..S. Half-track Vehicles in Action; The Complete Guide to German Armoured Vehicles; Panzers, Japanner's, Assault Guns, Anti-aircraft , Self-propelled Artillery, Armoured Wheeled and Semi-tracked Vehicles.
This is a neat book on U.S. Vehicles & Heavy Weapons used in the Vietnam War. It will be of interest to modelers and military historians alike.
