HISTORY:
The SU-76 (Samokhodnaya Ustanovka 76) was a Soviet light self-propelled gun used during and after World War II. The SU-76 was based on a lengthened version of the T-70 light tank chassis and armed with the 76 mm divisional gun M1942 (ZiS-3). It's quite simple construction and multipurpose combat role made it the second most produced Soviet armoured fighting vehicle of World War II, after the T-34 medium tank.

THE BOOK:
MMP (Mushroom Model Publications) is based in the UK.
This book is soft-cover of 28 pages in 8 ¼” x 11 ¾” page format.
The cover art shows a color side view of a SU-76M that is overall khaki-green, with a white no. L57403 on its side.
It includes 92 black and white photos. 57 are of the walk-around type.
There are 2 diagrams of the hull, the 76.2mm Zis-3 gun, the artillery sight, running gear, dashboard, 3 diagrams of the inside of the fighting compartment, radio gear, and transmission.
The end of the book has a repeat of the cover art profile (already described). It was produced by Plant no. 38, in the town of Kirok, Spring 1944.
This is a neat and inexpensive book. It will be of great interest to modelers planning on building a SU-76M and to military historians alike.
