THE KIT:
Dragon (sometimes called DML) is an old prolific plastic model manufacturer based in Hong Kong, China. They make all manner of plastic model subjects in the popular scales,
This kit comes in a shrink-wrapped end-opening type box. I am no fan of this type of box, because invariably parts or the decal sheet will find their way past one of the end flaps of the box to become lost forever. Give me a tray and lid type box any day of the week.
The cover art shows 4 Luftwaffe Field troopers, next to a damaged stone wall. Through an opening in the wall, in the distance, there is a knocked-out Sherman tank, that has a black outline of a diamond on the side of its turret and an unreadable white serial no. on its sides.
Trees are not alphabetized. However, each figure is.
The 1st man on the left is standing. He is dressed in a camouflaged jacket over field-grey trousers that are bloused over high black jack boots. He wears a field-grey steel helmet. He is armed with a Mauser 98K carbine in both hands. He is alphabetized as letter A.
The 2nd man to the right is standing. He is dressed the same as the first man, with the exception of his steel helmet, which is sand-yellow and his trousers are bloused over low black shoes. He too is armed with a 98K. He is alphabetized as letter B.
The 3rd man to the right is kneeling on his right knee. He is dressed exactly like the 3rd man. He also is armed with a 98K in his right hand. He is alphabetized as letter C.
The 4th (and last) man on the right is dressed in an all field-grey uniform and cloth field cap with a bill. His trousers are bloused into high black jack boots. He has a potato-masher style grenade tucked into one of the right boot. He is armed with a MP-40 submachine-gun in both hands. He is alphabetized as letter D.
All the men have full field gear on their belts.
One side panel of the box says: Contains parts for 4 figures. Paint and cement are not included. In Japanese, English, German, French, Spanish and Chinese. With each language labeled with a color illustration of the flag of the country that speaks the language. This is followed by the copyright of the kit as 1998, over Dragon’s street address in Hong Kong, China and the kit was made there.

The back of the box serves as the assembly and painting instructions. Colors are called out in Gunze Sangyo paint numbers, but no names for the colors. You are forced to look on the web to get the manes of these parts. An extra chore that modelers should not be forced to do. Bad move Dragon!
Each figure is shown in color from the front and back.
Below them there are 2 black and white line drawings by Dragon’s resident artist Ron Volstad. A Luftwaffe M3 field cap, a Luftwaffe Field Div. camouflage-field jacket.
