THE KIT:
Dragon (sometimes DML) is an old prolific model company based in Hong Kong, China. They manufacture all manner of model subjects in the popular scales.
This kit comes in a shrink-wrapped end-opening type box.
I am no fan of this type of box, because invariably parts or the decal sheet will find their way past one of the box’s end-flaps to become lost forever. Give me a tray and lid type box any day of the week.
The cover art shows a color illustration of 4 German-ski-troopers out on snow.
All 4 wear hooded white parkas.
Reading left to right, the 1st man is on skis. He holds the ski poles in his hands to propel himself. He wears white quilted trousers, bloused over low black shoes. He has a 98K Mauser carbine slung on his back. He is wearing a steel helmet, grey gloves and a dark hood on his head.
The 2nd man to the right is kneeling on his right knee on his skis. He also wears quilted white trousers bloused over low black shoes. He holds his skit poles in his right hand, using the cross-wise like a bipod for his 98K carbine he is aiming. His parka hood is up over his helmet. He wears grey gloves.
The 3rd man to the right is standing. He has his skis and poles across his shoulders and his 98K carbine slung over his left shoulder. He wears a soft billed cloth field cap that is grey. He has a black belt with a leather pistol holster on it, a potato masher type grenade tucked under it and ammo pouches, a canvas sack, canteen and a map case on it.
His trousers are dark grey and bloused over low black shoes.
The 4th and last man to the right wears a grey wool-lined hat. He is walking on snow shoes. He is carrying his 98K in both hands. He too has a black belt with a potato masher type grenade tucked under it, ammo pouches, canteen, canvas pouch and map case on it.
One corner of the box art says the kit contains photo-etched parts.

One corner of the box art says the kit contains photo-etched parts.
One side panel of the box says the kit contains parts for 4 figures, paint and cement are not included, in 6 languages, including English. That are each labeled with a color illustration of the flag of the country that speaks the language.
This is followed by the copyright for the kit of 1995 and Dragon’s street address in Hong Kong, China. Kit was made there.
The other side panel shows 2 color box arts of other kits that Dragon manufactures: Kit no. 6043, a Stug IV late tank and Kit no. 6045, German Gebirgsjager Troops (Caucasus 1942).
This is followed by: For modelers ages 10 and over. Not suitable for children under 4 years because of small parts, in multiple languages, including English.

The bottom of the box serves as the assembly instructions and painting guide.
Each of the figures are shown illustrated from the front and back.
At the bottom there are line drawings of the ski poles, ski boots, snow- shoes and skis.
Illustrations are all done by Dragon’s artist Ron Volstad.
