THE BOOK:
Kagero is a publisher based in Lublin, Poland. They do their books in both Polish and English. This book is all in English.
The book comes in a self-sealing clear cello bag. It is soft-cover of 20 pages in 8 1/4" x 11 3/4" page format.
The cover art shows 2 side views and a top view in color of Bf-109G's, against a dark green background with a white line drawing of the top of a Bf-109G.
The first side view is of a Bf-109G-12, rebuilt from a standard Bf-109G-6. It is in a splinter pattern of 2 shades of green over a light-blue fuselage sides and undercarriage. It has a red 96 outlined in white on the side of the nose, a black and white spinner. It is werk no. 163824.
This aircraft is shown again on the back cover also.
The second profile on the front cover is of a Bf-109G-8 of 2/NAGr 12, flown by Oblt. Heimo Emmerstorfer. It is in a wave pattern over light-blue sides and undercarriage. Fuse code is white 14 with a white skeletal cross. It has a black and white spinner.
This profile is shown again on page 12 in the book.
The top view is of a Bf-109G-6. It is in splinter pattern of green and grey over grey fuse sides with green mottling and green mottling on the rudder flap. The rudder has a white cross on it. There is a white fuse code of 1 wide white fuselage band and white 364 and a white square with a blue circle on it that has 3 black birds in flight over a palm tree and the white words GIGI TRE OSEI. It has a white spinner and white wing tips. It has a yellow panel under the nose. Roundels are the Italian black circles with 3 Fascist axes on them.
It was with the 354th Squadriglia, 150th Gruppo Autonomo Scaccia, flown by it's commander Capitano Mario Bellagambi, June 1943. Belligambi scored 14 victories with this unit and 11 more with Aviazione Republicana Itakiano (ARI).
The book contains 12 color profiles of Bf-109G's in Finish, Croatian, German and Italian marks.
There are 47 line drawings. A large loose sheet that is 16" x 8" format, folded in the center to fit the box is inserted into the book. It has line drawings on each side in 1/48th scale.
The face side has 4 side views of the Bf-109G-14, with illustrations of 4 different tail variations of the tail group.
The reverse side has 3 side views of the Bf-109G-6, a side view of the Bf-109G-6/U4, a side view of a Bf-109G-6 trop and a side view of a Bf-109G-6y.
As a bonus there is a set of canopy masks designed for the Tamiya 1/48th scale kit of the Bf-109G-6. It is die cut on black backing and the masks will no photograph to be seen.
This book will be of great interest to aircraft historians and modelers alike.
