THE KIT:
DML Dragon is a prolific model company based in Hong Kong, China. They manufacture all manner of model subjects in the popular scales.
This kit comes in a shrink-wrapped end opening type box. I am no fan of this type of box, because invariably parts of the decal sheet find their way past one of the end flaps to become lost forever. Give me a tray and lid type box any day of the week.
The box art shows a 4 man mortar team positioned in some rubble.
The first figure on the left is kneeling on one knee. He wears a steel helmet with a plain cloth cover on it. He has a long field grey jacket over field grey pants that are bloused into high laced boots. He is holding a mortar round in his left hand resting on his left knee.. In front of him is empty wood ammo case.
The next man to the right is kneeling on both knees. He is loading a round into the 8cm mortar. He wears a steel helmet and a camouflaged jacket over field grey pants bloused into high laced boots.
The next man to the right is kneeling on both knees and bent forward. He is steadying one leg of the mortar's tripod. He is wearing a steel helmet, a camouflaged jacket, field grey pants bloused into black jack boots.
The last man is standing and holding his hands over his ears. He wears a steel helmet, camouflaged jacket and field grey pants bloused into high laced boots.
One corner of the box art says the kit contains 52 parts and it is designed for modelers over the age of 10.
One side panel has two color box arts of other figure kits that DML manufactures: kit no. 6211, U.S. 29th Infantry Division Troops (Omaha Beach, D.Day 1944) and kit no. 6213, German Combat Staff figures.

This is followed by the statement that the kit is unsuitable for children under 3 due to small sharp parts, over DML's office address in Austria. Kit is for modelers over 10. This is all said in multiple languages, including English.
The other side panel says the kit contains parts for 4 figures and that paint and cement are not included. This is said in 6 languages labeled with a color illustration of the flags of the countries that speak those languages. The copyright of the kit is given as 2004 over DML's street address, e-mail address and web address in Hong Kong, China. Kit was made there.
The bottom of the box serves as the assembly and painting instructions. There are 2-views in full color of each of the 4 figures and a swatch of the camouflage pattern.
Below them is black and white line drawings of: a 8cm mortar ammo case, a 8cm mortar round and the 8cm Granatwerfer 34 mortar.
All the illustrations are by DML's resident artist Ron Valstad.
