HISTORY:
The Humber Scout Car was a British light scout car used in the Second World War. It entered service in 1942 and continued in production until 1945. Designed for reconnaissance, and liaison between armoured units, it provided protection only against light arms fire, so was not a front line vehicle. More importantly it was small and fast and could quickly evade trouble. It became the shape format for the post war Ferret armoured car which began production in 1952.

Bronco is an old prolific plastic model kit manufacturer, based in Hong Kong, China. They make all manner of plastic model kit subjects in the popular scales.
This kit comes in a blousy shrink-wrapped tray and lid type box. It is 5” too long and 2 ½” too wide.
The cover art shows a color illustration of a Humber Mk. 1 on a field with 2 Sherman tanks.
It is overall olive-drab, with a red square with a white 52 on it on the left side of the nose and a yellow rectangle with a black bull on it on the right. Below, on the left is a yellow circle with a black 4 on it.
The drivers are looking out of the tops of all 3 vehicles.
They all wear olive-drab uniforms. The Humber driver wears a beret on his head.
The 2 Shermans are both overall olive-drab
The lower left corner of the box art says: CAUTION, NOTE: This kit contains parts for one complete model. Suitable for age over 12. The paint & cement not included. Actual model kit may vary from the box art.
One side-panel of the box begins with: INTRODUCTION – With a high quality decal by Cartograf. Followed by a color illustration of the decal sheet and a color box art of Bronco’s kit no. The other side-panel of the box shows a 4-view of a Humber Mk. 1 that is overall sand color. It has white number F195274 on its sides, nose and rear. Above the numbers on the front and rear is a square, that is divided horizontally into red and tan. At the top of it is black D & M A.F.V.S.
Next is a black illustration of the PE fret. (this set is lost from the kit, before I ever got it from Benolkin).

WHAT’S IN THE BOX:
This kit holds 4 olive-drab parts trees and a loose hull tub and top part, 5 black rubber tires, a steel PE fret and the decal sheet. Nothing is cello bagged.
The instructions consist of a staple-bound booklet of 16 pages in 8 ¼” x 11 ¾” page format.
Page 1 begins with a black and white repeat of the cover art, over the history of the Humber Mk. 1 in English and Chinese.
Page 2 begins with decal application instructions and a painting and marking guied, that shows five 5-views and one 3-view.
Option 1 is with the Guard Armoured Div., Germany 1945, in overall olive-drab.
Option 2 (the 3-view) is with HSC of AFV DIV. Driving and Maintenance School, Lulworth 1943. Overall SCC2 brown.
Option 3 is with HSC of Garde Hussar Regiment, Danish Army 1950, in overall dark-green.
Option 4 is with RHQ 3RTR, 29th Armoured Brigade, 11th Armoured Div., Germany 1945, in overall olive-drab.
Option 5 is with 64th Anti-tank Rgt. RA, 78TH infantry Div., Italy 1944. In a camouflage of blue, mud and black.
Option 6 is with C Sqdn. 4th Hussars, Malaya 1950, overall deep bronze green.
Page 3 begins with the parts trees illustrations, over international assembly symbol explanations and a suggested paint color listing of Gunze Sangyo, Humbrol and Tamiya brands of hobby paints, in Chinese and English.
Page 4 on through to page 16 gives un-numbered assembly steps. I count about 44 of them.

Unfortunately, the steel PE fret and 5 rubber tires are missing in the kit. I contacted Mike Benolkin and asked if he may have these at all.
