THE KIT:
Dragon (sometimes called DML) is an old prolific plastic model kit manufacturer based in Hong Kong, China. They make all manner of plastic model subjects in the popular scales.
The kit comes in a shrink-wrapped end-opening type box. I am no fan of this type of box, because invariably parts of the decal sheet will find their way past one of the end flaps of the box to become lost forever. Give me a tray and lid type box any day of the week.
The cover art shows a color illustration of 4 German soldiers standing next to a hedge that has a knock-out U.S. M8 Armored Car behind it. The M8 is overall olive-drab with a white star on the front and some sand-bags on its fender.
The parts trees are not alphabetized. However, each of the figures are.
Reading left to right:
The 1st man is standing and smoking a cigarette. He is dressed in a camouflaged blouse over field-grey trousers that are bloused at the bottom over low black shoes. He wears a dark-grey steel helmet and is armed with a MP40 submachine-gun and has canvas ammo pouches for it on his belt. He has a black hood over his head. A black case on his belt. He is smoking a cigarette and is alphabetized as letter A.
The 2nd man to the right is standing. He is also wearing a flight-tan uniform with his trousers, that are bloused at the bottom over low black shoes. He too is armed with a MP40. He has an ammo belt slung around his neck and a back hood over his head and is holding a pistol in his right hand and a cigarette in his left. He is alphabetized as letter B.
The 3rd man is standing and accepting a light for his cigarette from the 4th man. He is dressed in a camouflaged blouse, over field-grey trousers. He is armed with a MP40 slung over his right arm. He has full field gear on his belt. He is alphabetized as letter C.
The 4th (and last) man is standing and lighting a cigarette for the 3rd man. He is uniformed the same as the 1st man. With full field gear on his belt. He is alphabetized as letter D.
The first illustration is of a 9mm pistol (640B)in a holster. The second illustration is of a U.S. Army poncho, the third illustration is of U.S. M43 trousers and the fourth illustration is of gators at the bottom of the trousers.
One side panel of the box says: Contains parts for 4 figures. Paint and cement are not included. In Japanese, English, German, French, Spanish and Chinese. Each language is labeled with a color illustration of the flag of the country that speaks the language. Followed by the 1998 copyright date of the kit, over Dragon’s street address in Hong Kong, China. Kit was made there.

The other side panel of the box shows 2 color box arts of other figure kits that Dragon makes: Kit no. 6088, a Kampfgrouppe Peiper (Joachim Peiper & staff, Ardennes 1944) and Kit no. 6090, German 12cm Granatwerfer 42 mortar w/crew.
The bottom of the box serves as the assembly and painting instructions.
It shows a color illustration of the front and back of each of the 4 figures.
Below them there are 4 black and white line drawings, by Dragon’s resident artist Ron Volstad. However, these are all of U.S. equipment, and not German. I think Dragon made a big mistake here.
