HISTORY:
A mine flail is a vehicle-mounted device that makes a safe path through a minefield by deliberately detonating landmines in front of the vehicle that carries it. They were first used by the British during World War II.
The mine flail consists of a number of heavy chains ending in fist-sized steel balls (flails) that are attached to a horizontal, rapidly rotating rotor mounted on two arms in front of the vehicle. The rotor's rotation makes the flails spin wildly and violently pound the ground.
The force of a flail strike above a buried mine mimics the weight of a person or vehicle and causes the mine to detonate, but in a safe manner that does little damage to the flails or the vehicle.

THE KIT:
Coree was a model company based in Seoul, Korea. I believe they have gone out of business.
The kit came in a shrink-wrapped end opening type box. I am no fan of this type of box, because invariably parts or the decal sheet will find their way past one of the end flaps to become lost forever. Give me a tray and lid type box any day of the week.
The box art shows a color photo of the Dragon M4A4 “Sherman” tank kit, with the flail mounted on it. It is unpainted.
The bottom of the box has Coree’s street address, telephone and FAX numbers in Seoul, Korea provided.

The kit contains many tan resin parts cast for the mine flail such as the drum assembly, lane markers, flail assembly, hull mounting plates, main gun cover, etc. (62 parts)
In addition to the tan resin parts the kit contains a brass PE fret, a length of brass beads and brass chain, a length of wire that is bare and in sleeving. All in 4 Ziplock type bags and one bubble-bag.
The driver figure is divided into separate head, torso, lower body and boots,
There are no decals included and the kit subject does not need any really.

The instructions is a single-sheet, printed on one side with a 5-view line-drawing of a Sherman with the flail mounted in 8 1/3” x 11” format and folded 3 times to fit the box.
A second instruction single-sheet is printed in color on both sides on slick-coated paper in 7” x 10” format, folded twice to fit the box.
It shows 24 assembly steps as small color photos that show the placement of the parts. However, these are hard to follow and a bad way to do instructions I think. A repeat of the box art and a photo of 44 resin parts, the figure assembled and the brass PE fret are also shown in color.
This kit will really make a Sherman or British Crab look neat with it added to them.
Highly recommended.
