THE KIT:
Tamiya is an old prolific plastic model company based in Shizuoka, Japan. They manufacture all manner of plastic model subjects in the popular scales.
This kit comes in a shrink-wrapped end-opening type box. I am no fan of this type of box, because invariably parts of the decal sheet will find their way past one of the end flaps of the box to become lost forever. Give me a tray and lid type box any day of the week.
The cover art shows color illustrations of the livestock in the kit.
There is a brown donkey, a white hog and her piglets, (2 of the piglets are also all white and the 3rd one has black behind), 2 geese that one is all white and the other is white with dark-grey wings, a prone puppy that is brown with a white nose and front paws, a German shepherd dog that is in shades of light and dark brown. 2 dark-grey hens – one prone and one standing, 2 red hens in the same poses as the other hens, 3 baby chicks and a prone brown rabbit that has a white chest.
They are all posed against one of Tamiya’s SIGNATURE all white backgrounds that they use for the majority of their box arts.
One side panel shows color illustrations of the two piglets and the prone puppy Captions that name them are in Japanese and English

The other side panel shows more color-illustrations, of the hens and the chicks and a repeat of the puppy. Again with the captions in Japanese and English.
The bottom of the box serves as the assembly instructions and painting guide. The great dane dog’s halves, geese and hens place on round bases, the two halves of the horse and his mane and tail and the halves of the hogs and piglets are illustrated. Text again is all in Japanese.
WHAT’S IN THE BOX;
This kit holds 2 chalk-white parts trees and a Tamiya kit catalog.

The first chalk-white tree holds: the halves of the horse, his ears, mane and two identical prone rabbits, the hog and his ears, the three chicks, 2 seated hens and 6 eggs. (22 parts)
