THE KIT:
Dragon (sometimes DML) is an old prolific model company based in Hong Kong, China. They manufacture all manner of model subjects in the popular scales.
This kit comes in a shrink-wrapped end-opening type box. I am no fan of this type of box, because invariably parts or the decal sheet will find their way past one of the end flaps of the box to become lost forever. Give me a tray and lid type box any day of the week.
The Cover art shows a color illustration of 4 German Panzerjagers in a dirt field, next to a knocked out Soviet tank. Behind them is a stone lined trench with a roof and barbed wire strung on posts.
All the men wear gray uniforms and steel helmets.
Reading left to right, the 1st man is standing. He is armed with a MP40 submachine-gun in his left hand and a magnetic mine in his right hand. He has a camouflage cloth cover on his helmet, black jack boots with his trousers bloused into them. Gas mask canister, tan canvas sack, mess kit and ammo pouches on his belt.
The 2nd man to the right is kneeling on his left knee. He wears black jack boots with his trousers bloused into them too, He is armed with a Mauser 98K carbine in his left hand and a land mine in his right. He has a shovel in a carrying pouch, mess kit, tan canvas sack and canteen on his belt and a gas mask canister slung on shoulder straps on his back.
The 3rd man to the right is standing crouched forward. He is armed with a Mauser 98K carbine in his right hand and is carrying a land mine in his left hand. His trousers are bloused into tan gaiters over low black shoes. He has a shovel in a pouch, gas mask canister, tan canvas sack, canteen and ammo pouches on his belt and a camouflaged rolled tarp on his back.
The 4th and last man is standing and he is attaching a magnetic mine onto the side of the Soviet tank with both hands. He is armed with a Mauser 98K carbine slung over his right shoulder. His trousers are bloused into tan gators over low black shoes. He has a potato masher type grenade under his belt and ammo pouches, a canteen, shovel in a pouch, tan canvas bag on the belt and a mess kit and rolled camouflage tarp on shoulder straps on his back.
One side panel of the box says the kit contains parts for four figures. Paint and cement are not included. In Japanese, English, German, French, Italian and Chinese. Each language is labeled with a color illustration of the flag of the country that speaks the language.
This is followed with the 1997 copyright date for the kit. Over Dragon’s street address in Hong Kong, China and the kit was made there.

The bottom of the box serves as the assembly instructions and painting guide. It shows front and back views of each of the 4 figures. Gunze Sangyo brand paints are suggested.
At the bottom there are 4 line drawings by Dragon’s resident artist Ron Volstad. Two views of a battle pack bag and 2 views of a battle should rack.
