THE KIT:
Dragon is an old prolific model company based in Hong Kong, China. They manufacture all manner of model subjects in the popular scales.
This kit comes in a shrink-wrapped end-opening type box. I am no fan of this type of box, because invariably parts or the decal sheet will find their way past one of the end flaps of the box to become lost forever. Give me a tray and lid type box any day of the week.
The cover art shows 4 German infantry-men, standing in a grassy yard in front of a fence. Behind the fence there is a German tank and buildings.
The men all wear field-grey uniforms, steel helmets and black jack boots.
Reading left to right, the first man is standing and holding a machine gun by the barrel, with the stock resting on the ground, with his left hand.
The second man is kneeling and holding a sub-machine gun by its barrel with its wire stock sitting on the ground. His steel helmet has a camouflaged cloth cover on it.
The third man is standing and holding a carbine in both hands.
The fourth and last man to the right is standing and holding a carbine in his right hand.
One corner of the box says the kit is a 39” to 45” Series. Another corner says; Unassembled model kit. This kit contains 75 parts. For modelers aged 10 and over. Box contains models of 4 figures.
One side panel of the box says: Contains parts for four figures. Paint and glue are not included. In 6 languages, including English. Each language is labeled with a color illustration of the flag of the country that speaks the language.
This is followed by the copyright of the kit as 1999, over Dragon’s street address in Hong Kong, China and the kit was made there.

The bottom of the box serves as the assembly and painting instructions. It has a color illustration of the front and back of each of the 4 figures and a patch of the camouflage on the cloth steel helmet cover.
Below them is 4 line drawings: Officer’s belt support straps, an assault pack and a front and rear view of an officer’s field blouse. Illustrations are all done by Dragon’s resident artist Ronald Volstad.
