THE KIT;
DML (Dragon) is an old prolific model company based in Hong Kong, China. They manufacture all manner of model subjects in the popular scales.
This kit comes in a blousy shrink-wrapped end-opening type box. The box is 3 ½” too long.
I am no fan of this type of box, because invariably parts or the decal sheet will find their way past one of the end flaps of the box to become lost forever. Give me a tray and lid type box any day of the week.
The cover art shows color illustrations of 20 different Allied infantry weapons, naming each one. Posed against an all-white background. Similar to how Tamiya brand also does the majority of their box arts.
Shown are:
A Thompson auto-rifle M1941, a MAS 36, a STV 40, a M1903A4 Springfield, a M10 Garand, a PPS 43, a Lee-Enfield no. 5 Mk. 1, a Lee-Enfield no. 5 Mk. 1(t), a M1 Garand, a Johnson M.G. M1941, a PPSH 41, a M1A1 carbine, a SG 43, a Bren Mk. 1, a M1918A2 Browning BAR, a M1 Thompson, a M1A1 Thompson, a Sten Mk. 2 and a Sten Mk. V.
One corner of the box art says that the kit contains unassembled models in 78 parts, for modelers aged 10 and older.
Box contains parts for 40 rifle models and their accessories.
One side panel of the box repeats that the kit holds 40 models. Cement and paint are not included. In 6 languages, including English. Each language is labeled with a color illustration of the flag of the country that speaks the language.
Followed by Marco Polo Import INC. street address in City of Industry, CA. They were the U.S. importer and distributor of Dragon (DML) kits in the 90’s. Their FAX number is also given over the copyright of the kit of 1995.
