THE KIT:
ICM is an old prolific model company based in Kiev, Ukraine. They manufacture all manner of model subjects in the popular scales.
This kit came in a shrink-wrapped, tray and lid type box. The box is a whopping 5” too long!
The cover art shows a T-28 parked in a snow covered field next to a forest It is covered overall with winter-white wash paint, with no markings shown.
In the background there is a destroyed Soviet T-26 with its turret knocked-off and on fire.
One side panel of the box has one-paragraph histories, over kit features in 4 languages, including English. Each language is labeled with a color illustration of the flag of the country that speaks the language.
Features are: Kit includes 607 parts, for four different versions of the model. Either version can be constructed. Paints and glue are not included. Not suitable for children under 36 months. Contains small detachable parts. Made in Ukraine.

The other side panel begins by saying the kit is for modelers age 10 and over.. This is followed by 4 box-arts of other AFV kits that ICM manufactures: a Soviet T-35, a Soviet IT-28 bridge-layer, a British Commonwealth IV and a British Comet. No kit numbers are supplied for these 4 kits. I assume they are all to 1/35th scale.
WHAT’S IN THE BOX:
This kit contains 10 dark olive-drab trees, 4 chalk-white trees and the decal sheet in 3 sealed clear cello-bags.
The instructions consist of a staple-bound booklet of 12 pages in 8” x 12 ¼” page format.
Page 1 begins with a black and white repeat of the cover art at the top, over the history of the T-28 in 4 languages, including English.
Page 2 & # are the parts trees illustrations, with international assembly symbol explanations across the bottoms of both pages.
Page 4 through to page 10 give a grand total of 15 assembly steps.
Page 11 is a painting and marking guide. It shows a side-view and the top of the turret of a T-28. Below are 3 more side views.
The top one is overall matt forest-green. The top of the turret has a large Soviet red star on it. It has a red band outlined in yellow around the top edge of the turret. On the sides of the turret at the top there is a red star with a yellow circle on it and a man’s face in the circle, below that there is another smaller yellow star with a red circle on it with a yellow hammer and scikle insignia on the circle and at the bottom a red banner with yellow Russian word that translates to KIROV on it.
It is as it appeared in the Red Square military parade in Moscow, fall of the 30’s.
The first side view is overall matt grass-green. It has the outline of a black square with a blue swastika in the center. This swastika is cut in two on the decal sheet and has to be assembled into the full swastika.
It was with the Finnish Army, 1942.
The second side profile is overall winter white-wash covered. It is the cover art scheme.
It was with the Soviet 20th Heavy Tank Brigade, Karelia, winter 1939-1940.
The third, and last, side profile is overall matt forest-green. It has a red band around the top edge of the turret, over a dotted white band. There is a white outlined square with a black number 2 in the center on the sides of the hull.

Page 12 begins with CAUTION about the kit, over a suggested paint color listing of Testors and Humbrol brands of hobby paints and decal application instructions, in 3 languages, including English.

Lettering jumps to the 2 identical dark olive-drab letter L trees. They hold: idler wheels, road wheels, bogies, jack etc. (47 parts each)
There are 4 identical chalk-white letter P trees. They hold the individual track links (72 parts each)
The dark olive-drab hull top and bottom are next (1 part each)
The decals complete the kit contents.
here are no clear parts or any crew figures included. Detail is excellent inside and out.
Highly recommended.
