THE KIT:
Zvezda is an old prolific model company based in Russia. They manufacture all manner of plastic model subjects in the popular scales.
This kit came in a large shrink-wrapped end opening type box. That is flimsy and it got badly crushed over the years.
The box art shows a color illustration of 4 Red Army infantry-men in a grassy field. They wear khaki uniforms that are badly faded by the sun and washing them. Puttees were khaki and grey and of different versions. Officers and political troops wore blue trousers. Rank insignia was in the form of red triangles.
All the men wear steel helmets, coats rolled up and over their shoulders and canvas bags and field equipment on their leather belts.
All are standing, The man on the left is getting to throw a grenade with his right hand.
The man in the middle-foreground is holding a rifle in both hands.
The man on the right is an officer in a navy-blue uniform with a peaked hat. He is aiming a pistol in his right hand.
The man in the middle behind the other 3 men is armed with a rifle.
One side panel of the box shows weapons and field gear.
