THE KIT:
DML is an old prolific model company based in Hong Kong, China. They manufacture all manner of model subjects in the popular scales.
This kit came in a shrink-wrapped end-opening type box. I am no fan of this type of box, because invariably parts or the decal sheet will find their way past one of the end flaps to become lost forever. Give me a tray and lid type box any day of the week. The box is blousy, being 5” too long,
The cover art shows a color illustration of 4 Israeli paratroopers next to a cement block wall..
The first man on the left is kneeling. He is holding a machine gun on a bipod. He has a folded canvas tent slung on his back. He has a tan canvas sack over his left wrist. Probably full of ammo for the machine gun?
The second man to the right is standing and holding an automatic rifle. He has a field radio slung on his back and ammo pouches on his belt.
The third man to the right is standing and armed with an automatic rifle that has a rifle grenade round in its muzzle and a canvas sack full of the grenades slung on his back. He has a tan knee pads.
The last man on the right is standing and also armed with an automatic rifle. He has a bazooka slung on his back, with a canvas sack and ammo cases on his belt.
All 4 men wear knit cloth caps. Two caps are light khaki. The other two are light khaki with olive brims. The knee pads on the one man are light khaki. All their uniforms are olive-drab. They all wear high laced black boots with their trousers bloused into them.
One side panel of the box says: Contains parts for four figures. Paint and glue are not included. In 6 languages labeled with color illustrations of the flags of the countries that speak the language, including English. Followed by Marco Polo Import’s address in City of Industry, CA – who where the importer for DML kits back in the 90’s. Their telephone and FAX numbers. Copyright 1989.

This is a nicely detailed set of Israeli paratroopers. It will be of interest to modelers and military historians alike.
