HISTORY:
The MiG-29SMT is an upgrade package of the first-generation MiG-29s (9.12 to 9.13) containing many enhancements intended for the MiG-29M. Additional fuel tanks in a further enlarged spine provide a maximum flight range of 2,100 km on internal fuel.
The cockpit has an enhanced HOTAS design, two 152 × 203 mm (6 × 8 inch) colour liquid crystal MFDs and two smaller monochrome LCDs. The upgraded Zhuk-ME radar provides similar features to the MiG-29M.
The power-plants are upgraded RD-33 ser.3 engines with after-burning thrust, rated the same at 8,300 kgf (81.4 kN) each. The weapons load was increased to 4,500 kg on six underwing and one ventral hard-point, with similar weapon choices as for the MiG-29M variant. The upgraded aircraft has also used a painted path for non-Russian origin avionics and weapons.

THE DECAL SET:
Begemot is located in Russia. They manufacture decal sets in several scales, predominantly of modern Russian aircraft. Begemot in Russian means Hippopotamus and Begemot uses it for a logo of a cartoon character of one.
The set comes in a zip-locked type clear cello bag.
It holds 4 decal sheets and 3 1/3rd pages of painting and marking instructions, printed on slick-coated paper.
Three sheets are 9 ¾” x 14” page format. One sheet is 9 ¼” x 5”. All are printed on both sides and are in Russian and English.
The first 2 larger sheets show illustrations of 12 Russian and one Algerian Air Force Mig-29 SMT. Eleven are 3-views, One is a 4-view and two are 2-views.

The reverse side of this sheet shows line drawings that indicate where to put stencils on weapons and their pylons. At the bottom there is a paint color listing and the copyright date of 2017 for the sheet and Begemot web address.
The small sheet has a further 3-view of a Mig-29SMT, bringing the total to 13.
The reverse side has a 4 view illustration of the lightning bolt insignia on the rudder of one of the paint schemes.

The no. 1 decal sheet shows blue Soviet stars that are just outlines, red Soviet stars with white borders, blue numbers, white letters and 2 squadron logos and hundreds of stencil markings.
The no. 2 decal sheet shows red and grey numbers, Algerian Air Force roundels, the Mig company’s logo in blue, small red lettering, small black numbers, thin red stripes and many more stencil markings.
The no. 3 medium-sized decal sheet holds grey numbers, RF’s and more stencil markings.
The small decal sheet holds black serial numbers.
This is one neat set. It has tons of markings for the Mig-29SMT. However, I shudder to think of using all those stencil marks on a model. They are very tiny.
Highly recommended.
