This 5 lb. unit came in a sturdy tan box with a tab locking lid. Inside is a light brown fine mache powder in a clear cello bag that is held shut with a wire tie.
Clay Shay comes in 1 lb., 5 lb., 25 lb. and 50 lb units.
It is innovative, safe and non-hazardous with no asbestos and 0% shrinkage.
Mix thick to feel like clay or mix thin to feel like mache. This product has a double set to lock in details and eliminate shrinkage.
It has a light brown body, is lightweight, strong and very verstile for universal applications as a clay or a mache.
It can be carved, filed, sanded, painted or otherwise finished after set-up.
Uses include sculpting, design and art prototypes, casting, model construction, theatrical props, model railroad scenery, artificial rocks, habitat, base and mannikin building, wildlife art, conventional clay and mache hand lay-up applications and more.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE:
1. Measure dry mache powder as needed and mix with water to desired consistancy. Mache is now ready to use.
2. Set-up time is about 1 hour, depending on the mixed consistancy. Clay Shay can be carved after set-up time has passed and until it is fully cured. Mache is fully cured when moisture dries off in 1 - 4 days.
3. Simple water clean-up. Finish and paint as desired.
SUGGESTED MIXING RATIOS (mache to water)
3 to 1 = Batter-like for casting and molds.
5 to 1 = Clay-like for hand lay-up applications.
Keep out of reaach of children. Safe for all ages when used as directed. Wear goggles and dusk mask when sanding cured mache. Keep container closed and dry.
