THE BOOK:
Peko Publications is based in Hungary.
This book is hard-bound and wrapped in a tight-fitting clear cello envelope.
The cover art shows a black and white wartime photo of a group of 14 U.S. soldiers examining a German Panther Ausf. G, produced in August/September 1944. The debris guard can be seen above the gun mantle, but the vehicle still has zimmerit anti-magnetic coating. The hit which caused the destruction of the tank is clearly seen on the upper edge of the turret’s side, directly in front of the spare road wheel.
The back cover shows another black and white wartime photo of a German Pz.Kpfw. II Ausf. L “Luchs”, light reconnaissance tank. Only 100 were produced between September 1943 and January 1944. The vehicle had a crew of 4: commander/gunner, loader, radio operator, and driver, and its main armament was a 2cm KwK 38 gun with an additional MG 34 machine-gun.
It contains 196 pages (4 are blank) in 11 ½” page width and 8 ¼” page height.
The book is in both Hungarian and English text.
It begins with ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS and an INTRODUCTION.
