THE KIT:
Dragon (also called DML at times) is an old prolific plastic model kit manufacturer based in Hong Kong, China. They make all manner of plastic model kit subjects in the popular scales,
This kit comes in a shrink-wrapped end-opening type box. I am no fan of this type of box, because invariably parts or the decal sheet will find their way past one of the end-flaps of the box to become lost forever. Give me a tray and lid type box any day of the week.
The box art shows a color illustration of 4 U.S. infantrymen, walking on a grassy field, past an abandoned German Sd.Kfz. 251 halftrack. Behind the half-track is a brush covered hill. There is a large white house in the background.
The infantrymen all wear camouflage uniforms, in 2 shades of green and dark green steel helmets. Their trousers are bloused into high, buttoned up canvas leg-wrappings, over low brown shoes.
Reading left to right:
The 1st man wears a helmet that has a net cover, with small tufts of grass tucked into it. He is armed with a carbine.
The 2nd man wears his helmet like the 1st man has his. He is armed with an automatic rifle.
The 3rd man wears his helmet bare. He is armed with a carbine.
The 4th (and last) man’s helmet just has the net on it. He is armed with a Thompson sub machine-gun.
One side-panel of the box says: Contains parts for four figures. Paint and glue are not included. In Japanese, English, German, French, Italian and Chinese. With each language labeled with a color illustration of the flag of the country that speaks the language.

The bottom of the box serves as the assembly and painting instructions. It shows a front and back view of each of the four figures. At the bottom there are line drawings of: a HBT, Army camouflage jacket and trousers and a M1936 pair of equipment suspenders.
All illustrations are done by Dragon’s resident artist Ron Volstad.
