THE KIT:
Tristar is an old prolific plastic model kit manufacturer, based in Hong Kong, China. They make all manner of plastic model kit subjects in the popular scales.
This kit comes in a blousy (2 ½” too long) shrink-wrapped end-opening type box.
The box art shows a color illustration of 7 Russian tank crew members, posed against an all-white background. Similar to how Tamiya brand also does the majority of their box arts.
In the foreground, reading from left to right, is a standing crewman wearing a light-grey uniform, with a black belt and tan pistol in holster. His trousers are bloused into high black jack boots. He holds a brown leather helmet in his left hand and is bare-headed.
In the middle of the foreground, there is standing man, wearing a black uniform and leather helmet and jack boots. He too has a tan pistol holster on his belt.
On the right of the foreground is a female crew member. She is wearing an earth-yellow uniform, with black belt and pistol holster, trousers bloused into black jack boots. Wearing a brown cloth side cap.
In the second row, there is a single crewman. He is dressed the same as the man in the center of the foreground. He is standing.
In the background, the first crewman on the left is standing. He is wearing a tan uniform with a brown leather helmet. He has a brown pistol holster on his belt.
The crewman in the middle of the background is seated. He wears a medium-grey uniform and brown leather helmet. He too has a brown pistol holster on his belt.
The crewman on the right of the background is standing. He is dressed the same as the crewman in the middle.
The box art says: Box contains models of 7 figures, with 2 spare heads. Sculpture & figure design by Yoshitaka Hirano and project supervised by Hiroyuki Nakada.
One side-panel of the box gives Tristar’s office address, phone number, E-mail and web address in Japan. Followed by their addresses in Hong Kong, China.
Above the addresses it says: Ready to assemble precision model kit. Paint and cement are not included. Modeling skills helpful if under 10 years of age. Made in China.

WHAT’S IN THE BOX;
This kit holds 2 medium-grey parts trees in 2 sealed clear cello bags.
Trees are not alphabetized. However, the figures are.
The large medium-grey tree holds: the D, E, F & G figures.
All the figures are divided into separate head, full body, arms, jack boots, leather helmet and pistol holster.
The letter F figure is missing off the tree. I don’t know what I did with him over the rears. (35 parts)

The smaller medium-grey tree holds the A, B & C figures. Letter A is divided the same as letter D, E, F & G figures on the large tree. Letter B figure is just a head, upper body and arms. Letter C is seated, he is a head, torso, legs and arms. Also on the tree are leather helmets. The letter B figure is missing. Again, I don’t know what I did with him over the years. (24 parts)
The detail is very good.
