THE KIT:
BauMann-Preiser is an old prolific plastic model kit manufacturer that is based in Tokyo, Japan. They make all manner of plastic model kit subjects in the popular scales. The kit, however, was made in Germany.
This kit comes in a shrink-wrapped end-opening type box. I am no fan of this type of box, because invariably parts or the decal sheet will find their way past one of the end-flaps of the box to become lost forever. Give me a tray and lid type box any day of the week.
The cover art shows 12 figures, that are shown as being chalk white (the actual figures on the kit are molded in medium-grey). They are posed standing, sitting on chairs, a bomb or crates etc. against a black background.
Below them is a color photo of a diorama of a grassy airfield, next to a tree, with a Bf-109, that is grey, with a yellow rudder, red nose and white propeller tip. Two men are working on it,while 2 pilots look on.
One crewman is on the wing. He wears an all field-grey uniform. The other crewman is kneeling by the plane. He wears a tan uniform. The two pilots wear dark-grey uniforms and high black jack-boots and officer’s billed hats.
Both the side panels say: KEEP THIS PIECE OF ADVICE IN MIND! Recommended for model builders and collectors of 14 years. Due to scale and functional model design, there are also points, edges, and small parts and for this very reason take care to ensure that children under 10 years do not get their hands on the kit. In 6 languages, including English.

One of the side panels gives BauMann-Preiser’s street address, telephone and FAX numbers in Tokyo, Japan.
The bottom of the box shows 2 more color photos of dioramas. The first one shows the airfield that is shown on the cover art, but with 6 pilots sitting on chairs by a wood table, under the tree. All wear field-grey uniforms.
The second photo is a repeat of the airfield one on the box art, but from a different angle.
Below them are color photos of 15 figures, chairs, table, duffle bag and radio.
Twelve figures are dressed in field-grey uniforms, 2 are dressed in tan uniforms and one is dressed in a tan shirt and field-grey trousers.

instructions, parts trees illustrations and 5 assembly steps. In multiple languages, including English.
What is really NEW and something that I have never seen before in model kit, is that the end flaps say INFORMATION in large letters, with 2 black arrows that point into the box and a illustration of a pair of scissors.
This means to cut the box open.
Inside on the walls of the box are painting instructions, parts trees illustrations and 5 assembly steps in multiple languages, including English.
