THE KIT:
Dragon (sometimes called DML) is an old prolific model company based in Hong Kong, China. They manufacture many plastic model kit subjects in the popular scales.
This kit comes in a shrink-wrapped end-opening type box. Readers know that I’m no fan of this type of box. Because invariably parts or the decal sheet will find their way past one of the end flaps of the box to become lost forever. Give me a tray and lid type box any day of the week.
The cover art shows a color illustration of 4 Volksgrenadiers of the 252nd Division, walking down a dirt road next to Jagdpanzer tank. In the background there is a forest. The Jagdpanzer is overall panzer-grey with some brush mounted on its sides and the tank commander looking out of the top hatch. He wears a black uniform with a cloth cap with a bill and headphones. No markings are visible on the tank.
Reading left to right, the first Volksgrenadier wears a camouflaged jacket in 2 shades of green, over an olive-drab jacket, that is reversible to overall white and a black neck scarf and low shoes. He is armed with a 98K carbine in both hands. He wears a grey steel helmet. On his belt he carries a gas mask canister, canteen and ammo pouches.
The second man to the right wears the same type of a camouflaged jacket over similar camouflage trousers, bloused at the bottom over low shoes. He too has a field-grey helmet. He is armed with a MG36 sub-machine gun in both hands. On his belt there are canvas ammo pouches, a canteen and mess kit.
The third man to the right wears an olive-drab overcoat and low shoes. He is armed with a 98K carbine in both hands and also a field-grey helmet. He has a potato masher type grenade tucked under his belt buckle and ammo pouches, a gas mask canister, tan canvas sack and canteen on his belt.
The fourth (and last man) to the right is dressed exactly like the second man, with the same overall camouflage uniform and a black scarf. His trousers are bloused at the bottom over low shows. He too has a field-grey helmet. He is armed with a rocket launcher slung on his right shoulder and a MP36 sub-machine gun in his left hand. He has tan canvas ammo pouches and a sack on his belt, along with a bayonet in scabbard.
The lower right corner of the box art says: Unassembled model kit. This kit contains 88 parts for modelers age 10 and over. Box contains models of 4 soldiers.
One side panel of the box says: Contains parts for 4 figures (again). Paint and cement not included. In 6 languages, including English. Followed by the copyright for the kit is 1999 and Dragon’s street address in Hong Kong, China and kit was made there.

Gren. Rgt. 25, HG Div. (Norrey-En-Bessin 1944). Followed by: Not suitable for children under 3 because of small parts. Importer for Europe is Italeri with their address. For modelers aged 10 and over. In multiple languages, including English.
The bottom of the box serves as the assembly instructions and color guide.
Each figure is illustrated from the front and back in color.
At the bottom there are line drawings of the front and back of a camouflaged smock and front and back of an overcoat.
Illustrations are all done by Dragon’s resident artist Ronald Volstad.
