HISTORY:
Built by Miles Aircraft Ltd., the Master III went into production in 1940 as a two-seat advanced sigle motor trainer, seated in tandem.
The difference between the Master II and III is that the II had a power plant of one Bristol Mercury XX, nine cylinder air cooled radial engine, and the power plamnt of the III was one Pratt and Whitney Twin Wasp Junior R.1535 S.B.4.G. air cooled radial engine, giving a speed of 232 m.p.h. and a landing speed of 60 m.p.h.

Span: 35 ft. 7 ins.
THE KIT:Air Lines is Lines Bros., once based in New York, NY.
This kit came in a tray and lid type box in which the tray and lid are hinged together. It was not shrink wrapped but held shut with strips of Scotch tape.
The box art shows a group of three Masters circling each other.
They are all in a wave pattern of dark green and earth above yellow undercarraiges. No markings are visible other than the roundels.
One side panel of the box shows a Master in the scheme mentioned above and with a large white no. 7 behind the fuselage roundel and a black serial no. W8729 behind the 7. This serial no. is larger and in black under each wing.
The other side panel has a list of features of the kit: pilot figures, moveable propeller and wheels, Authentic R.A.F. markings, box bottom COLLECTOR'S CARDS, Air Lines-Testor FREE KIT offer (see box bottom), Testor painting manual, display stand.
Lines Bros. was stationed in New York, NY in the 60's and this kit was made in the USA.
On the box's bottom is two of the collector's cards. You cut these out. It has a color box art of Air Line's kit no. 4901, a DH 88 Comet Racer and kit no. 3903 a Macchi M.C. 202 Folgore fighter.
To the right of these cards is the FREE KIT offer of a Testor paint set, worth .79 cents in the 1960's for sending in 12 different collector's cards or a kit of your choice for 24 collector's cards.

This kit contains two silver-grey parts trees and loose silver grey full span lower wings, upper wings, fuselage halves, 2 clear trees, decal sheet, instructions and painting guide.
The 1st silver-grey part tree holds: cowling, cylinders, wheels, figures, seats, tail wheel, landing gear legs, propeller (19 parts)
This kit contains two silver-grey parts trees and loose silver grey full span lower wings, upper wings, fuselage halves, 2 clear trees, decal sheet, instructions and painting guide.

The instructions consist of a single sheet printed on both sides in 8" x 6" page format.
The face side has one exploded drawing for assembly with a lot of text to walk modelers through the build.
The reverse side has the history of the Master and a 3-view of the box art scheme. Kit was made in the USA and Line Brox. street address in New York, NY is shown.
This is a nice older kit of a British trainer.

I purchased my kit back in the 60's for a song at my local hobby shop that went out of business.
