THE KIT:
DML Dragon is an old prolific model company based in Hong Kong, China. They manufacture all manner of model subjects in the popular scales.
This kit comes in a shrink-wrapped end-opening type box
I am no fan of this type of box, because invariably parts or the decal sheet will find their way past one of the end flaps to become lost forever. Give me a tray and lid type box any day of the week.
The box art shows 4 German infantrymen behind a hedge. In the background there is a British Bren gun carrier tank that is knocked out and has thrown the treads on one side.
All the infantrymen wear camouflaged smocks in tan, dark-green and red-brown spot pattern. Their trousers are dark green and are bloused at the bottom over low shoes.
Reading left to right, the first man is standing. He has a cloth camouflaged cover on his steel helmet. He is armed with a MP40 machine pistol. There is a black map case on his belt in front and ammo cases for the MP40. Hung on the belt In the rear is a shovel in its carrying case, a mess kit, canteen and a tan canvas sack.
The second man to the right is also armed with a 98K carbine with a grenade launching attachment on its muzzle. His smock is a long one. He carries the same field equipment on his belt as the first man.
The third man is kneeling. He is aiming his 98K and also carries the same field equipment on his belt as the first two men.
The fouth and last man to the right is prone. He is raising up on his left arm and has a potato masher type grenade in his hoisted right hand ready to toss it. On the ground beside him is his 98K carbine and another potato masher type grenade.
One side panel says the kit hold parts for 4 figures. Paint and cement are not included in the kit, in Japanese, English, German, French, Italian and Chinese. Each language is labeled with a color illustration of the flag of the country that speaks the language.
This is followed by the 2001 copyright date for this kit, over DML’s street address in Hong Kong, China and the kit was manufactured there.

The other side panel has 2 color box arts of other 1/35th scale figure kits that DML manufactures: kit no. 6153, German Infantry (Ukraine summer 1943) and kit no. 6154, German Winter Combat group (Eastern Front 1942/43).
This is followed by the statement that the kit is not suitable for children under the age of 3 due to sharp parts, over Italeri address in Italy, who is the Importer and distributor of DML kits for Europe. The kit is intended for modelers over the age of 10. This is all said in multiple languages, including English.

The bottom of the box serves as the assembly and painting instructions.
There is a color illustration of the front and back of each one of the four figures.
Below them is a line drawing of a M035 dispatch case and a grenade launcher’s case.
All illustrations are by DML’s resident artist Ron Volstad.

The detail is great on these figures.
