Vallejo is a fairly new company that produces hobby paint products and is based in Spain.
This set has colors and washes and pigments for effects of wear and erosion on AFV models that are overall green in color. So, it will be very useful on U.S. and Russian AFV’s for sure.
The kit comes in an un-shrink-wrapped end-opening type box. The box has a tab at the top with a hole in the center, so it can be placed on a display hook in a store.
The box art shows a color photo of a U.S. half track finished with the set’s colors.
Below this swatches of the 7 colors included in the box and the fact that they are acrylic.
A side panel says “This weathering paint system set was presented in collaberation with Jose Brito, consists of the application of a series of colors, washes and pigments to achieve weathering and aging effects. It will give the scale model an authentic and realistic appearance.” This is said in multiple languages, including English.
The other side panel shows color photos of 5 other AFV painting sets that Vallejo markets:
ART 78400 Dunklegrau, German Tank Grey
ART 78401 Dunklegelb, German Dark Yellow
ART 78402 U.S. Army Olive Drab
ART 78403 Russian Green
ART 78405 Weathering Set For Yellow/Grey Vehicles

Below this, on the back of the box, are 6 color photos showing the U.S. half track’s appearance at each of the 6 steps in the color application, captioned in Spanish and English.
Vallejo’s telephone number in Spain, their E-mail and web addresses are provided here also.
Inside the box is a vacuformed tray with the 7 bottles of colors each in their own individual pocket. A catalog is accordion folded inside that shows color swatches of literally hundreds of colors that Vallejo markets, including some accessory sets.
I’m anxious to try this set on one of my overall green models. I have heard nothing but glowing comments in reviews and word of mouth about Vallejo paints, but never had any before. My local hobby shop does not sell this brand…sigh.
I picked my set up, with a 40% off coupon that I printed off the internet for the Hobby Lobby store that is in a neighboring city 40 miles south of me. It’s always nice to get a bargain!
