THE KIT:
Dragon (sometimes called DML) is an old prolific model company based in Hong Kong, China. They manufacture all manner of plastic model subjects in the popular scales.
This kit come in a shrink-wrapped end-opening type box. Readers know that I’m no fan of this type of box. Because invariably parts or the decal sheet will find their way past one of the end-flaps of the box to become lost forever. Give me a tray and lid type box any day of the week.
The box art shows a color illustration of 4 Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler troops, standing in a brick-paved street, near the corner of a building. In the background there is a Panzer I tank and a Sig 33 tank parked near a woods and house. Both have 2 of their tank crews looking out of their tops. The tanks are both panzer-grey. The Panzer I has just a small illustration in white of a wolf’s head on its turret front. The Sig 33 has a skeletal white German cross on it’s sides.
The four men are all standing.
Reading left to right, the first man is dressed in a jacket that is camouflaged in spots of two shades of green. He wears olive-drab trousers bloused into black jack boots. He is armed with a MG36 sub-machine gun. His helmet has a matching camouflaged cloth cover on it He has a gas-mask canister slung around his neck and a pair of goggles wrapped around his helmet. On his belt he has a tan canvas bag, ammo pouches and a canteen.
The second man to the right is in the same uniform as the first man. He is armed with a 98K carbine in his right hand and a potato masher type grenade in his left hand. On his belt he has a large metal box, ammo cases, a canteen, a pair of binoculars slung around his neck, with it’s bag on his chest.
The third man to the right wears a grey officer’s billed hat, a white scarf around his neck along with a pair of binoculars. He wears a olive-drab overcoat and black jack boots. He is armed with a 98K carbine that he is holding in his left hand. His right arm is raised and his hand is pointing.
The fourth (and last) man on the right, also is wearing an olive-drab overcoat and black jack boots. He has a camouflage cloth cover on his steel helmet. He too is armed with a 98K carbine held in both hands. He has a pair of goggles strung around his helmet too.
The lower right corner of the box art says: Unassembled model kit. This kit contains 68 parts for modelers aged 10 and over. Box contains models of 4 figures. In French and English.
One side panel of the box says: Box contains four figures. Paint and cement are not included, in 6 languages, including English. Followed by the copyright for the kit as 1999, over Dragon’s street address in Hong Kong, China and kit was made there.

Dragon’s European address in Italy and for modelers aged 10 and over. In multiple languages including English.
The bottom of the box serves as the assembly instructions and as a painting guide. The front and back of each of the 4 figures is shown in color.
